Welcome to Week 3 of Plumb's first annual 30 Days of Giving! We are highlighting our superstar employees and the organizations they support. As we launch into the Holiday season, we want to recognize our Plumb team members for all the fantastic, important, and selfless work they do outside of the office.
One of the great parts of working at Plumb is that we foster a Community of Caring. We care about our clients, we care about our employees, and we all care about giving back to our communities.
Plumb prides itself on our incredible employees who give 110% at work, and who are also caring, generous, and thoughtful members of their communities - wherever those communities are across the globe.
We've already been proud to highlight our employees dedication to The Forest Park Conservancy, The Alzheimer's Association, Care in Action, Rachel's House Women's Center of San Diego, and Cycle for Survival.
This week we are putting the spotlight on four more amazing Team Plumb members:
Stephanie Hazy, who works on our Family Office Accounting & Bill Pay team, supports Relay for Life.
Stephanie shared: “Relay for Life is dedicated to helping communities fight back against cancer. This cause is important to me because my family has experienced the devastation cancer can bring.”
Stephanie's family has been involved in Relay for Life for 12 years. They were moved to join this organization's efforts in honor of their dad, and in memory of their grandpa, two uncles, and their aunt. In addition to the annual walk, Stephanie's team also hosts a paint night for Kindergarten through second graders. (Photo above).
They've started their fundraising campaign for the year. If you can make a donation to this important cause, please do so here! Any amount can make a difference.
Katie Hauser, another superstar on the Plumb Family Office Accounting & Bill Pay team, supports "Welcome Saturday" at Vista La Mesa Church in San Diego.
As Katie told us: "Welcome Saturday is offered every second Saturday of the month. The church provides a hot breakfast, packed lunch to go, showers, toiletries, clothing, and fellowship to those in need for free. The church has been putting on this service monthly to give back to those in need and to make sure no one goes hungry that day. Some of these people haven’t had a shower and privacy in many months, and the donated clothes allow them to choose what fits them. This becomes a community for them, and they are given the chance to be served without any expectation. I love seeing the impact we are able to make and the fact that it is monthly means we are able to help year-round instead of just at the holidays."
Samantha Thomas is one of our wonderful Client Relationship Managers.
Samantha and her family love to give back by donating their time and energy to a local dog shelter called Mackenzie's Sanctuary. They walk, feed, and hang out with the sweet pups. They've also volunteered to sell shirts that support the sanctuary. In addition to helping at the animal shelter, Samantha also serves as the treasurer of her children’s high school band booster, and she serves Thanksgiving meal at a shelter every year.
Our last employee spotlight shines brightly on Charmaine Paras, who works with our team in the Philippines. Charmaine started her own organization Cabalen United.
As she explains: “Cabalen United is the organization we built so that we can give back to our community in Pampanga, Philippines in times of difficulties. This cause is important to me as I want to give as much as I can. I want to share what I have -- time, money or effort. Our next plan is to give grocery bundles to those less fortunate before the Christmas season so that they can have food to celebrate with their loved ones. Others can support the cause either in cash or in kind whatever they prefer."
We'd like to thank Stephanie, Katie, Samantha, and Charmaine for all of the incredible work they do to support their communities, and for sharing their stories and their causes with us!
